I usually like to keep this blog on a positive note, but I am concerned by issues that impact our society. One of these issues is the abuse of prescription medication.
I have a friend and today his 30 year old son died. He overdosed on a prescription medication intended for another. My friend had to make the painful decision to disconnect the life support system. However it is not at all easy to disconnect from the memories and emotions.
At one time in my life I wanted to cover the pain with chemicals. It only made matters worse. Everything still was there, all the pain and loneliness. Only now it started growing because we all know when a person is using, they tend to make some very bad choices. After a while it feels to big to even clean up. But I promise you when you do, your life will take on a sweetness that will make the effort worth it. Don’t wait until you hit rock bottom, it’s a long climb up. Please also don’t expect an instant recovery. Getting better is a gradual process.
When we are using substances we are lost and blind to our wonderful gifts. We are not able to find our intuition or hear our source speaking to us. We have silenced our communication with all the wonderful guides who are whispering to stop living in a self-induced hell.
Life can be a hard journey, but becoming addicted to anything makes the journey almost unbearable. It makes us hate ourselves more. So if you are experiencing this struggle, please surrender. Discover what is on the other side, it will be painful, but there is a lightness ahead, and when you find it, you will look back at how far you’ve come and feel an immense peace.
I ask you to pray for my friend Ken and his ex-wife, she is the one who will have the biggest heart break to overcome, she is the one who gave the meds to her son.
