The shiny, bright Christmas season is upon us. However people are feeling less than shiny and bright.
Many are feeling anxious over Christmas and the expectations placed on them, and how they will accomplish the expected results when they maybe don’t have a job or the funds to buy gifts.
I personally know people who are waiting until after the Holidays to shop. But don’t put off the sharing of the season. It’s not about what you can buy for another, it’s what you already have to give. We should not be expected to go into debt to make others happy. I think if we all dial back our expectations we can live with less stress.
Can you remember what you got for Christmas two or three years back? But do you remember a moment that stands out from Christmas past? That is really what we want. Creating lasting memories. We adapt the traditions and snap pictures to look back on of our precious Christmas moments. We love to look back and feel that special time again. We remember how it felt to be around our loved ones. The meal and stories we share, the jokes we tell, the togetherness.
If you are feeling the pinch financially this Christmas, just give more of yourself. Create more memories, not everything has to be wrapped and placed under the tree. It can be wrapped and placed in the heart.
